Darioush Gharazad
Born in 1976 in Tehran, Darioush Gharazad started his art education in the ateliers of iranian artists such as Moheb Ali, Vakili and Moslemina. He uses colour and composition to concentrate on the social and urban issues of modern-day Tehran, particularly on the booming youth culture. Darioush reinvents graffiti - which has become a new popular form of expression among the young in Tehran - as a beautiful form of expression . His style has been described as 'hyper realistic' expressing sociological changes. As Darioush himself has put it, "I think the message [of my art] is that people have changed - especially young people."
Darious has exhibited in international shows in Tehran, New York and London, including Whispered Secrets, Murmuring Dreams. Darioush work has also been featured in the exhibition Selseleh Zelzeleh at the LTMH Gallery in New York, and has become a well-established artist whos works have been sold in international prestigious auction houses.
