Mischa Haller
The documentary and portrait photographer, Mischa Haller, was born in 1971 in Switzerland and since 1998 based in London. Mischa has previously trained with a number of photographers including Peter Beard.
By focusing on details Mischa records the wonders of the everyday and exposes a larger picture of life. In Mischa's own words, he is interested in "Real people and real moments. Not just how things look but how it felt to be there". As such the details hint at an existential truth. There is a rich visual language in Mischa’s reportage style and use of rich vibrant colour that transforms the ordinary. Mischa has extensively worked with the UK press, design agencies and branding companies and is a contributor to The Independent, The Times, Monocle, John Brown Media and the Future Laboratory.
Mischa was recently commissioned by the Swiss private bank, Pictet & Cie, to create a series to be exhibited in their headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. He has also produced and curated a Swiss Photography show for the Swiss Embassy in London. Mischa is working on a longterm project with the theme 'Waiting': "How we wait and where we wait. Waiting has become an integral part of our daily lives, our days are sprinkled with waiting". The subjects include waiting mothers with the unborn child to mourners in the streets of Wootton Bassett.
