Pooya Aryanpour
Born in Tehran in 1971, Pooya Aryanpour studied at the School of Plastic Arts and at the Azad University, Tehran. His distinctive style is characterised by the use of white shapes set against dark backgrounds which conceptually represent symbolic calligraphy. These works create a sense of suspense and mystery and, as Pooya himself has put it, represent "accidental events".
Pooya has had solo exhibitions in Sweden and in Iran, and has participated in a number of international group shows, including Whispered Secrets, Murmuring Dreams. Pooya is a renowned artist whos works has been sold worldwide through Candlestar and through prestigious auction houses.
