Emily Allchurch – born 1974, Jersey, Channel Islands

Emily Allchurch completed an MA at the Royal College of Art in 1999, and has since established a reputation for her back lit transparency works. Allchurch draws closely on art history, painstakingly collaging hundreds of contemporary photographs to recreate old master paintings and iconic works. Allchurch’s photographs are featured in international public and private collections including Nouveau Musee National de Monaco, Financial Services Authority, Aspen Re Insurance and Galleria Parmeggiani

Yassi Golshani – born 1967, Hamburg, Germany

Yassi Golshani grew up in Iran and gained an MA in Painting from Al Zahra University in Tehran. In 1996 she moved to Paris, where she studied at the University of Saint Denis-Paris VII and the Sorbonne. Golshani’s artistic practice moved from painting to installation work, and most recently she has created installations of boxes containing various items, from disbanded Iranian newspapers and religious poetry, to children’s toys. Golshani has participated in a number of exhibitions in Iran, Europe and the USA.

Patrick Hughes – born 1939, Birmingham, England

Patrick Hughes first exhibited in 1961, and has become famed for his iconic perspective paintings. He has been exhibiting with Angela Flowers Gallery (now Flowers Galleries) since 1970. Hughes creates a world solidified into perspective, and makes pictures that come alive before our eyes. Hughes’ playful and technically accomplished pieces are featured included in many collections including the Tate, London, Deutsche Bank and the Phillip Morris Collection, New York. He has written and collated three books on visual and verbal rhetoric.

Gerry Judah – born 1951, Calcutta, India

Gerry Judah is an artist and designer who is renowned for his creations for theatre, film, television, museums and public spaces. Gerry Judah’s paintings occupy a zone midway between painting and sculpture. Judah’s architectural constructions seem to cling to the surface of the canvas and recall zones of conflict - human habitations which have been pulverized almost out of existence. Judah’s works are included in many distinguished collections, including the Saatchi Collection, and the Imperial War Museum Collection.

David Maisel – Born 1961, New York City, USA

David Maisel creates large-scale aerial photographs which chronicle the complex relationships between natural systems and human intervention. Maisel gained a BA from Princeton University, and an MFA from California College of the Arts. He was a Scholar in Residence at the Getty Research Institute in 2007, and an Artist in Residence at the Headlands Center for the Arts in 2008, when he was shortlisted for the 2008 Prix Pictet. The Lake Project explores the deceptively beautiful impact of human activity on the face of the earth.
