Photography Collectors' Circle

Candlestar has taken the initiative to establish the Photography Collectors' Circle (PCC). This membership scheme, will provide photographic enthusiasts including collectors, dealers, gallerists, and institutions with a central community to promote photography within the UK and internationally.

This circle will incorporate a number of membership benefits which will include private PCC events, seminars, advice regarding collecting and caring for photographs, an online forum, and more. In addition to the basic membership elements, the PCC will organise a range of special events, which would include international travel to special photographic events.

We are currently developing the following benefits for Members:

• A programme of regular discussion evenings

• A pre-purchase advisory service for collectors – including exclusive (London) auction previews

• Seminars on the principles and practicalities of collecting and caring for vintage, modern and contemporary photographs

• Appraisals and valuations for collections by different PCC specialists

• Dedicated discounts from galleries for PCC members

• Exclusive access to a protected online forum for information, discussion, etc.

• Curator-led previews of photography exhibitions, including guided access to graduate shows at the major UK colleges of art and design

• Guided access to major Art Fairs

• Exclusive access to rare holdings at major museums and other institutions

• Visits to private collections

• International guided visits to galleries, events and institutions (additional costs and locations to be confirmed)

As a part of the Photography Collectors' Circle, there will be a regular e-newsletter for members, as well as event listings and a service directory on the website.  Members will be able to register via the website for specific events if there is a restriction of spaces available.
