Candlestar has worked closely with the Geneva based private bank Pictet & Cie to design and build the Prix Pictet which launched in 2008. We act as the Secretariat for this world class award, and the Candlestar team has also designed and curated Prix Pictet exhibitions in Paris, Dubai, Hong Kong, Thessaloniki, Dresden, Eindhoven, Geneva and London.

The Prix Pictet is the world’s first prize dedicated to photography and sustainability. It has a unique mandate – to use the power of photography to communicate crucial messages to a global audience; and it has a unique goal – art of the highest order that responds to the immense social and environmental threats of the new millennium.

Entry to the Prix Pictet is by nomination, and more than seventy leading international figures in the world of visual arts and media act as nominators each year. The Prix Pictet entries are then judged by an independent Jury of internationally recognised experts led by Francis Hodgson, photography critic for the Financial Times and former Head of Photographs at Sotheby's, London
