Two Candlestar artists have been in the spotlight in April.  First off, Parviz Tanavoli’s sculpture Persepolis sold for well over $2 million at Christies latest auction in Dubai and the Lucy Orta’s specially  commissioned Orta water sculpture provided an intriguing backdrop to the official launch of the Prix Pictet on 29 April.  The Prix Pictet launch attracted key figures from the worlds of the arts, media, business and sustainability and the key note address was given by the UN special envoy on Climate Change Gro Harlem Brundtland. Candlestar acting the Prix Pictet Secretariat are currently sifting nominations that have come in from the global network of nominations established earlier to nurture the Prix Pictet.
