Prix Pictet Tour

The Prix Pictet Earth exhibition has been touring the world since the full show at the Passage de Retz in October last year, where the prizewinners were announced by HE Kofi Annan. The show has so far visited Thessaloniki, Dubai, Eindhoven, Gstaad, Dublin, Bonn and Moscow. It opened at the Caprice Horn Gallery in Berlin at the end of June. An exhibition of the four winners of the Prix Pictet to date is also on show at the Espace Arlaud as part of the twenty fifth anniversary celebrations of the Musée d’Elysée.

Prix Pictet Laureates, Espace Arlaud, Musée d’Elysée

The Prix Pictet Laureates are shown together for the first time at Musée de l’Elysée, Lausanne, 18 June - 25 July 2010. The exhibition shows work by the four Prix Pictet winners to date - the first two winners of the CHF 100,000 award, Benoit Aquin, and Nadav Kander, together with the first two commissioned artists, Munem Wasif and Ed Kashi. Together, their work presents a powerful testament to the fragile state of our world.

The exhibition is held at the Musée de l’Elysée’s Espace Arlaud, Lausanne and is part of the museum’s twenty fifth anniversary celebrations. It comes at a time when the museum is welcoming a new director. Commenting on the collaboration between the Prix Pictet, incoming director Sam Stourdzé says, “The Musée de l’Elysée is delighted to start a collaboration with the Prix Pictet. In two years, the Prix Pictet has established itself as a major force in the world of photography. It bears the hallmark of quality and is a critically acclaimed prize. Its aim is to enable contemporary photography to confront the public with the challenges of sustainable development. This is a commitment that Musée de l’Elysée shares with the Prix.”
