Prix Pictet Growth will be exhibiting at the Gallery of Photography in Dublin, Ireland from 3 December to 15 January 2012. Growth is the third year of Prix Pictet, which is now esteemed as one of the world’s leading prizes in photography and sustainability, and has already toured extensively during the past year.

At once a blessing and a curse, growth, in all its forms, presents one of the great conundrums facing humanity in the early decades of the twenty-first century. From the dizzying expansion of our cities with their ever increasing dependency on scarce natural resources to the relentless growth of populations and the need to feed ourselves.

Kofi Annan, the Prix Pictet’s Honorary President, wrote in his foreword to Growth – ‘This collection of extraordinary photographs shows us why a new economic model is needed - one that is global, inclusive, cooperative, environmentally aware and science-based.'

Prix Pictet will soon be announcing the photographers who have been shortlisted for the fourth annual series, Power, which allows photographers to creatively explore and uncover images and issues that are both awe-inspiring and disturbing.
