The Art of Technology

The Art of Technology

For over two decades Candlestar Director, Fariba Farshad, has been at the forefront of the application of the technological innovation in art, design and education. Starting with a range of projects designed to integrate technology into teaching, learning and art, and design practice at University of the Arts’ Fariba’s work included the development of Virtual Learning Environment, E-learning, online MA Digital Art and FDA in Fashion Marketing and Merchandising, as well as the development of innovative learning packages that attracted numerous national and international awards. This work was the subject of a major feature in The Times entitled ‘Drawing is given a digital lead’ by Simon Tait. We also produced the innovative DVD on drawing, ‘Seeing Drawing’, which was shortlisted for a BAFTA. Her innovative online fashion magazine, Ntouch – the first of its kind – was launched to considerable critical acclaim in 1995.

Candlestar have advised a range of clients in this area including Ravensbourne College of Communications and Design and the University for the Creative Arts.

Most recently we have developed a brief for introduction of the concept of “learn anytime anywhere” at the newly established Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design.

Candlestar are responsible for the design, implementation and management of the sophisticated competition software for Prix Pictet.
