Tusk Conservation Awards

Tusk Conservation Awards

Candlestar has been appointed by Investec Asset Management in conjunction with Tusk Trust to advise on the development of The Tusk Conservation Awards, which have been backed by the charity’s Royal Patron, The Duke of Cambridge. The aim of the awards is to recognise the outstanding achievements demonstrated by individuals working in the fields of wildlife conservation.

We are working with Charlie Mayhew MBE, Chief Executive of Tusk and Investec to develop all the organisational aspects of the new award. Guided by Candlestar’s expertise in the development of  international awards it is the aim to establish a prestigious prize for conservation in Africa.

Tusk was established in 1990 with the aim of halting the decline of Africa’s natural heritage and to find a way to combine the interests of people and wildlife alike. Tusk is a member of the Princes’ Charities Forum. Since its formation Tusk has raised over £18 million for a wide range of projects across Africa and can now boast a portfolio of 57 projects spreading across 17 African countries.

The first Tusk Conservation Awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Royal Society, London in September 2013.
